Manifesto (June 2026)

This manifesto was first published in June 2026.

We may revise our ideas over time, but we wanted to keep a record of where we started.

At the time, we were asking a simple question:

Who helps us understand ourselves?

The Internet Forgot One Thing: Our Inner Life

The internet records our photos, messages, and public lives.

But it was never designed to help us keep a record of our inner conversations.

The Internet Wasn't Built for Our Inner Life

The internet captured almost everything except what was happening inside us.

It records our photos, our messages, and our public lives.

But the most personal part of life often leaves no lasting record.

The questions we ask ourselves.

The thoughts we never post.

The feelings we quietly carry.

We call this our inner life.

What Is Inner Life?

Inner life is not what happens around us.

It is what happens within us.

Our thoughts.

Our feelings.

Our questions.

Our doubts.

Our reflections.

The quiet conversations we have with ourselves.

We believe that understanding begins when we can see our mind.

That is why Talk to Myself exists.

Why Self-Talk?

AI answers questions about the world.

Self-talk explores questions about you.

Some answers are found through conversation with yourself.

Self-talk is often brief and temporary.

A thought appears,

then disappears.

A question comes,

then fades away.

Without a record,

even important thoughts are easily lost.

Recording allows attention to continue.

Recording allows meaning to accumulate.

We believe the internet needs a private space to record your inner life.

Our Vision

Over time,

your inner life becomes your story.

The thoughts you recorded.

The questions you explored.

The feelings you reflected on.

Together,

they become part of your story.

Talk to Myself is not just a place to write.

It is a place to keep a record of your inner life.

Talk to Myself

Recording Our Inner Life.

Over time,

your inner life becomes your story.

This was our first attempt to describe why Talk to Myself exists.

We keep it here as a record of where we started.
