Privacy & Security

Your writings belong to you.

Many users ask us:

"Can other people read my messages?"

"Are staff reading my entries?"

"Why do I need to sign in?"

These are important questions.

Talk to Myself exists to provide a private space for self-reflection. Since 2019, we have continuously improved the service based on user feedback, including privacy concerns.

Why Do I Need to Sign In?

We use sign-in so your records can stay with you even when:

  • You change phones

  • You reinstall the app

  • You use multiple devices

Without sign-in, your records would exist only on your device and could be lost permanently.

We currently support simple sign-in methods such as Google and Apple to avoid creating another username and password that users must remember.

Do You Use My Writing for Ads?

No.

We do not use your writings for advertising.

We do not profile users based on their personal journals.

Talk to Myself is designed as a space for self-reflection, not a platform for targeted advertising.

Do Staff Read My Messages?

No.

Our team does not read personal journals to understand, profile, or advertise to users.

When users contact support, we investigate technical issues using account and system information whenever possible.

In some cases, we may ask users for screenshots or screen recordings to understand a specific problem.

Is My Data Safe If I Change Phones?

Yes.

Your records are connected to your sign-in account.

As long as you sign in using the same account, your data should remain available even if you change devices or reinstall the app.

What About My PIN?

Talk to Myself supports an optional lock PIN.

This PIN helps protect your private space from people who may use your device.

If you forget your PIN, please contact support using the same account you use to sign in.

Our Philosophy

We believe self-talk requires privacy.

People share thoughts with themselves that they may never share with anyone else.

That is why privacy is not simply a feature of Talk to Myself.

It is part of the reason Talk to Myself exists.

If you have any questions about privacy or security, please contact us through the Community or Support channels.
