FAQ

1. Where is my data stored?
We mainly store your data in the cloud.
Your thoughts and feelings are often meaningful records over time, so we don’t want them to disappear just because you change or lose your phone.

A small portion may be cached on your device so you can use the app more smoothly, but the main copy is kept safely in the cloud so you can come back to it even years later.
2. Do I have to sign in with Google?
Yes, for now we use Google Sign-In as the simplest way to know that “you are you.”

Most Android users already have a Google account, so this lets us:
• avoid making yet another ID/password for you
• sync your space across devices
• restore your data if you change phones

We only use the basic account information needed to identify your account. We don’t read your emails, contacts, or anything unrelated to Talk to Myself.
3. Is my data safe?
We treat your data as something important and private.

• We don’t share your writings or use them for ads, profiling, or selling insights.
• Your data is encrypted when it’s sent to our servers and when it’s stored in the cloud.
• We only use your data so that you can read, write, and manage your own records.

Our goal is simple: your thoughts stay yours.
4. Why isn’t there AI chat?
AI can give fast answers, but many decisions in life still have to be made by you.
To make those decisions, you often need to understand yourself first, not just hear another opinion.

Talk to Myself is designed as a place for honest self-talk, not as an AI chatbot. Both “sides” in your chat are you — your current self, and another part of you that understands you better.

In short: this app is for listening to your own voice, not for outsourcing it.
5. Can I customize the colors and themes?
Not yet, but we hear this request a lot.

We’re exploring ways to let you adjust background and bubble colors so the app feels more like “your” space. At the same time, we need to balance development time and possible paid features so that the core app can stay simple and accessible.

For now, we’re focusing on stability and the writing experience, and we’ll share more when customization options are ready.
